Getting started with Weave for Boomi
1 · Install
Install Weave for Boomi
from the VS Code Marketplace (search “Boomi” in the Extensions view, or Ctrl+P →
ext install vegha.weave-boomi). Requires VS Code 1.99+; the Marketplace serves a platform build
with everything bundled — no .NET install needed.
2 · Get a workspace folder
Weave is folder-confined: the open VS Code folder IS the project (components in components/,
tests in weave-tests/, state in .weave/ — git-friendly by construction). Two ways in:
- Open an existing Weave workspace (e.g. a git clone) — it loads automatically.
- Weave: Pull Project from Boomi Account… — lists your account’s folder tree over the Platform API and downloads a subtree into the open folder. Configure credentials first with Weave: Configure Boomi Account (API token stored in VS Code’s encrypted SecretStorage).
3 · Set up the local test agent (to run tests)
Run Weave: Set Up Local Test Agent… — it copies a Java agent jar next to your Atom and shows
the exact atom.vmoptions block to append. Restart the Atom and it appears in the agent picker;
verify with Weave: Test Agent Diagnostics.
4 · Write your first test
Weave: New Boomi Test File… scaffolds a *.boomitest.yaml bound to the process you have open.
The bundled JSON schema gives completions as you type, and the test appears in VS Code’s Testing
pane on save. Hit run: shapes light up on the canvas as the process executes on your Atom, and the
verdict lists every assertion.
